Literally the worst of the suit companies. Customer service is incompetent and borderline negligent. Do not care about their customers.

I used them for the first time as part of the bridal party for a wedding. They have messed up every step of the way, from being too cheap to have sizing appointments, sending the wrong suit jacket, and using incorrect templated responses for every customer email.

With as bad as this experience is going, customer service hasn't kicked into quality control at all. Rather left me with the same person who has done nothing but make me despise this company enough to leave a review. The poor bride and groom should not have to deal with an added stresser like this for their wedding.

This is the worst type of company. Don't give them money.

Would not recommend since in-store employees didn't seem knowledgeable on how to properly measure and the online website/account has gotten most things wrong for my groomsmen. My in-store measurements were wrong for my jacket, pants, and dress shirt neck so I have had to send back my items multiple times. All of my groomsmen have had their sizes completely off and not what they submitted in their accounts for their sizes and 3 of them have not received shoes.

Grooms, I cannot caution you strongly enough to choose a different option -- especially if you are travelling for your wedding.

I have been in multiple weddings that have used The Black Tux as their outfitter. In total, I would say I've probably been around 25 other groomsmen between the different weddings. I think only 2 people got the right fit the first time.

The first wedding I was in with them a few years ago, the suit was hillariously big. The one I'm about to be in, the suit was hilariously small.

I also am frustrated with their sizing process. I normally wear either a 48L or 46L, depending on brand, my size, etc. I put my measurements into the Black Tux and it was like "no, no, trust us. You're gonna want a 44L." Against my better judgment, I deferred to them. When the suit arrived, who would have guessed that I was doing my best Chris Farley "fat guy in a little coat" impression. It's almost like I MIGHT know what size I need and they shouln't talk you out of it. Here's to hoping they get it right on the second go-round.

No time to try it on and still have time for changes. Terrible sizing prompts on website. Unresponsive customer service. I will now have to go and buy a new suit before wedding because I cant trust them. Massive flaws in website that need to fixed. You cannot be an ecom site without a flexible website to account for multiple needs Don't bother.

The sizing surveys created laughably wrong results within the wedding party, you get your items extremely last minute, and then the modification process is a disaster. There was one in person measurements appointment the two days before my event that was way too late to get something shipped in... And they basically doubled the modifications by taking the size modification then full on adding the sleeve length adjustment after explicitly having you measure it with your current and incorrect size. It took a bunch of us mixing and matching items last minute to get passable! I would say it's worth maybe $50-$75 max to go through this much hell for a jacket, pants, and meh shoes but $175? No way. The quality is meh... The return process I've already gotten a 'thanks for your return' then the next day a threatening email I haven't started the return process...

Please don't do this to your wedding party!! I guess maybe it's easier sounding? I wanted this to work and never write reviews but please don't suffer like I did.

We had an appointment with a showroom booked a month and a half in advance. Got a call the morning of the appointment saying it was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We understood and asked when they could get us in next. They gave us a date two months away, a little over a month before our wedding. We checked online and it’s the next available online appointment, so they were not trying to help us in any way even though they are the ones who cancelled last minute.

We tried the best we could to get an earlier appointment but they refused to accommodate us. They told us to keep checking the website to see if any appointments open up.

We obviously will not be doing that, and I don’t know why they would think anyone should have to chase them down to give them their business. Any decent company would work to actually help the customer they had just cancelled on, but there was none of that. I didn’t feel right giving one star since we didn’t actually get to use The Black Tux, but it’s bad enough that we had planned around an appointment that we had to wait a month and a half for, only for it to be cancelled last minute with no attempt at a resolution. I’d be careful trusting them with something as important as a wedding.

Customer service slow to respond and completely useless. Will not replace items based on size despite advertisement. Essentially ordering a suit you are guaranteed to have to take to a tailor.

Tried to order 5 vests for my groomsman. No sizing chart available. You cannot order 5 vests on one account which is ridiculous. Email customer service and phone customer service are useless. What a terrible way to run a business. I can't believe David's Bridal recommends you. Do not waste your time.

The cuff links, studs, and cummerbund for a tuxedo rental were not shipped to me, and I had to purchase them the night of the event. When I followed up with The Black Tux customer service, I asked to be credited for the cost of the missing items. At first, they refused and credited the rental cost of those items, so I posted a one-star review here. An associated followed up on this review, and after a couple rounds of emails, they credited to me the cost of the items I had to purchase. While far too much of my time was used to resolve the issue they created, ultimately they agreed to what I think is a fair solution.

The extra charge put on the bill at the end of the process for "Rental Damage Waiver" is a poor business practice. It is mandatory, and for normal usage wear (doesn't insure against damage), so should just be part of the upfront rental price. Adding this at the end is a shady practice.

The Black Tux provided exactly the suit rental experience we needed! Our groomsmen were young (15 and 18) and in two locations. The Black Tux provided multiple options for getting fitted and made exchanges SO easy (we made one exchange for each groomsman). Their ordering system is well thought out and provided plenty of time before our event. The suits were classic, sopisticated, and comfortable. Would absolutely recommend!

By fault of my own (ordered the wrong size) the pants and vest received were too tight. As advertised, replacement items were shipped expeditiously and I was good to go days before traveling to the event. Return shipping label and even tape for the box are already provided so the process was very simple! Just boxed up the items and dropped them at UPS. Everyone at the event matched and looked good. Compared to experiences with mens warehouse the quality is every bit as good and the process is 100x easier. Which says a lot because I live in a very isolated part of the country and the service still went on without issue. Will definitely use for future events.

Nice, smooth experience. Lots of ways that this could have been a pain that weren't. Notably, returning the rental was very easy, especially compared to what I feared.

The in-person fitting exceeded my expectations, and a the fit was perfect. My tux arrived in the mail and I dropped it off at the local UPS store. It just doesn’t get any easier than that!

The Black Tux delivered everything on time. I didn't love the fit of my pants and jacket... No problem! They sent me another jacket and pants which fit perfectly. Then at my wedding, I had a mishap where the pants got a small tear - again - no problem! They did not charge anything for the fix to the pants. I won't ever use another company when needing to rent nice clothes!
